BBC Northern Ireland News
Less than a year after its launch, 'Sixty Minutes' was cancelled and BBC One opted for a new strategy - a half-hour 'Six O'Clock News', to be followed by the regional news at 6.30pm.

The changes meant that 'Scene Around Six' (like its counterpart 'South East At Six') needed a new name.

On September 03 1984, BBC Northern Ireland welcomed viewers to a new programme - 'Inside Ulster'.
